California Intervention for drugs Intervention news Effective intervention efforts and crisis intervention programs are needed badly in California for all age ranges as well. During a recent study in California there were 182,000 young people ages 12 to 17 who reportedly used a drug other than marijuana in the previous month. During this same previous month period there were reportedly, 275,000 young adults aged 18 to 25 who likewise used a non-marijuana drug. This needs to be addressed in an effective way in California. There are entirely too many young adults traveling down the dangerous slopes of addiction with entirely too few really effective intervention services to halt their decline. Change is needed. As for the adult population of California, over 665,000 reportedly used non-marijuana drugs or alcohol in the month previous to the above mentioned study. These are our sons and daughter. The California adults are our work force and voting population. These are good people who have potentially found themselves trapped in the cycle of addiction and struggling to break free. Intervention is critical at this age to restore any semblance of an enjoyable productive life and to ensure the same quality of life for the families these individuals start and inflict addiction on. California has many programs called crisis intervention or early intervention, etc., but many find these efforts lacking with regards to their ability to effect change with the individual either becoming or struggling with addiction. As an example of the magnitude of the problem facing California, there were reportedly 723,000 people ages 12 and over who had used cocaine in the year previous to the study. California has many challenges facing her, but cocaine is an especially deadly challenge that must be fought with intervention and education. When someone has become addicted to cocaine the drug can literally take over their entire life quickly. Nothing else matters to this person except getting and using the drug. Cocaine use and cocaine addiction more often than not requires an addiction intervention to help the person break free. With regards to cocaine addiction and abuse and the need for intervention there are people of all ages who require help. In California there were reportedly 53,000 teenagers aged 12 to 17 who abused cocaine in the year previous to the study. Likewise, there were reportedly 259,000 young adults ranging in age from 18 years of age to 25 who used cocaine in the year previous to the study. As for the adult population of California, there were 410,000 adults from the age of 26 years old and above who similarly reported using cocaine in the year previous to the study. Many of these individual's families will discover the desperate need for intervention due to being forced to watch the person they love drown themselves with cocaine and their addiction to it.
